4. FIRST AID MEASURES

First Aid - Eyes: Irrigate copiously with water for at least 10 minutes. If irritation persists obtain medical advice.

First aid- skin: Wash affected area with plenty of water. Remove contaminated clothing. Seek medical advise if irritation persists.

First aid- indigestion: Rinse mouth with water. Obtain medical advice immediately.

First aid- inhalation: Remove the individual to fresh air. Obtain medical advice.

General: Seek medical advice if necessary

5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA Carbon Dioxide, Dry Powder, Foam. Do not use water.

6. ACCIDENT RELEASE MEASURES

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS Avoid inhalation of vapours. Ensure sufficient ventilation. Breathing apparatus is recommended in the event of a large spill.

ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS Do not discharge into drains/surface waters/groundwater. Do not allow entry to soil.

CLEANING UP METHODS Soak up in absorbent material e.g. sand. Do not use combustible material such as sawdust for soaking up spillage.

DISPOSAL Use a registered waste contractor. Be aware of your local regulations.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

Handling Ensure area is well ventilated. Avoid direct inhalation. Avoid contact with skin or eyes. Rags used for wiping up spills should be disposed of promptly, as cases of rags spontaneously combusting are known of. handle and open container with care

Storage Store in full dry airtight containers away from sources of heat and light. Avoid sources of ignition.

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION In well ventilated areas respiratory protection is not normally required. In confined, poorly ventilated area respiratory protection may be necessary.

STABILITY Stable at ambient temperatures.

CONDITIONS TO AVOID Avoid sources of ignition. Avoid temperatures in excess of 25 deg C. Avoid excessive contact with air.

MATERIAL TO AVOID Strong acids and /or alkalis Oxidising agents.

HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS Carbon monoxide and unidentified organic compounds may form during combustion.
